Egypt Judo Team Wins Silver and Bronze Medals at Bosnia European Open

Egypt’s national judo team completed its participation in the European Open tournament held in Bosnia and Herzegovina with strong results, winning two medals in the men’s events.

The tournament featured several European teams, providing valuable competition experience for Egyptian athletes.


Egypt Judo Team Squad

Egypt participated with seven athletes:

Men’s Team

  • Abdelrahman Abdelghany (81 kg).
  • Abdullah Abdelsamea (90 kg).
  • Omar El-Ramly (100 kg).
  • Hady Hussein (+100 kg).
  • Mohamed Abdo (+100 kg).

Women’s Team

  • Tasnim Roshdy (57 kg).
  • Farida Magdy (70 kg).

Omar El-Ramly Wins Bronze Medal

Omar El-Ramly secured the bronze medal in the 100 kg category after a strong tournament campaign.

He defeated athletes from Slovenia and Serbia before losing in the semifinal against Bulgaria’s representative.

He then won the bronze medal match against an athlete representing the International Judo Federation refugee team.


Hady Hussein Takes Silver Medal

Hady Hussein delivered an outstanding performance in the +100 kg category, winning three matches before losing in the final.

His achievement earned Egypt a valuable silver medal.


Abdelrahman Abdelghany’s Strong Performance

In the 81 kg category, Abdelrahman Abdelghany defeated athletes from Germany and Sweden before reaching the quarterfinals.

He later exited after losses in the elimination rounds.

Abdullah Abdelsamea lost his opening match in the 90 kg category against a Russian athlete.

Mohamed Abdo was eliminated after losing his first match against Serbia’s representative in the +100 kg competition.


Women’s Competition Results

Tasnim Roshdy lost against a British athlete in the second round of the 57 kg category.

Farida Magdy defeated a Turkish champion in her first match but lost to a Dutch athlete in the second round before competing in the repechage.
