🇪🇬 Overseas Players Arrive for Egypt Camp
Egypt’s overseas-based players began arriving in Cairo on Monday to join the Egypt senior national team camp ahead of the opening two matches in the qualifying campaign for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Pharaohs are preparing to face Angola in the opening round before meeting South Sudan in the second round as they begin their qualification journey.
Several overseas players are expected to join the camp during Monday, including Rami Rabia, Haitham Hassan, Mohamed Abdelmonem, Omar Marmoush and Ibrahim Adel, while the remaining players are scheduled to arrive on Tuesday morning, led by national team captain Mohamed Salah.

The updated Egypt squad for the current camp includes nine overseas-based players:
- Mohamed Salah – Trabzonspor, Turkey
- Omar Marmoush – Tottenham, England
- Ibrahim Adel – Nordsjaelland, Denmark
- Rami Rabia – Al Jazira, UAE
- Mohamed Abdelmonem – Nice, France
- Hossam Abdelmaguid – Ludogorets, Bulgaria
- Haitham Hassan – Celtic, Scotland
- Hamza Abdelkarim – Barcelona, Spain
- Omar Fayed – Frosinone, Italy
The overseas contingent is expected to integrate quickly into the training program as the coaching staff prepares the team for the opening two qualification fixtures.
⚠️ Hamdy Fathy Withdrawn Through Injury
Egypt national team director Ibrahim Hassan announced on Sunday that Hamdy Fathy, the Al Wakrah midfielder, had been withdrawn from the current camp after suffering an injury while playing for his club in the Qatari league.
Head coach Hossam Hassan subsequently called up Omar Fayed of Frosinone to replace Fathy and complete the squad for the current international window.

Egypt will be looking to make a strong start to the qualification campaign and collect as many points as possible from the opening two rounds, beginning with the Angola match before traveling to face South Sudan.
The coaching staff will benefit from having the overseas players join the squad ahead of the official fixtures, allowing the team to complete its preparations and finalize its tactical approach.
Much of the attention will naturally be on Mohamed Salah and the other overseas-based players as Egypt aim to open their African qualification campaign with strong performances.
