The Egyptian Professional Clubs Association has announced the disciplinary sanctions for the second round of the first stage of the Egyptian Premier League for the 2026-27 season.

The decisions were issued in accordance with the competition regulations, disciplinary rules and the quality-control system governing the tournament.

The sanctions included a three-match suspension and a EGP 50,000 fine for a Tala'ea El Gaish player, while a Gouna player was suspended for one match and fined EGP 2,500.

Tala'ea El Gaish Player Suspended for Three Matches

The association decided to suspend Omar Wael Abdel Samee, a Tala'ea El Gaish player, for three matches and impose a EGP 50,000 fine.

The punishment came after the player was found to have assaulted an opposing player during or away from a challenge, according to the competition's disciplinary regulations.

Gouna Player Suspended for One Match

In the Canal SC vs. Gouna match, the association suspended Wilfred Tico of Gouna for one match and imposed a EGP 2,500 fine.

The decision followed his dismissal after receiving two yellow cards during the same match.

Yellow Card Regulations Applied

The association also confirmed the application of Article 54 of the ORA League regulations for the 2026-27 season concerning yellow-card cases involving technical, administrative and medical staff, as well as players.

Egyptian Premier League Competition Format

The Egyptian Premier League begins with a first stage in which teams compete in a single round-robin format.

Following the first stage, the teams are divided into two groups. The first group includes teams competing for the league title and qualification for continental competitions, while the second group consists of teams fighting to avoid relegation.

Points Carried Into the Final Stage

Under the Premier League regulations, each team carries the same number of points it earned during the first stage into the final stage.

The final standings are then determined separately within each group according to the results of the second phase.
