We have obtained the full transcript of Ahmed Sayed “Zizo’s” statements during the investigation session held this morning at Zamalek SC. The session was convened in light of his nearly month-long absence from training and matches, in addition to other alleged violations.
The session took place in the presence of the club’s legal committee only, with no board members attending. Zizo had previously missed three formal summonses before finally appearing with his lawyer, Ashraf Abdel Aziz.
Here are the questions and answers from the investigation:
Q: Did you sign for Al Ahly?
A: No.
Q: Why did you miss training and matches?
A: I didn’t feel safe... My picture was removed from the club, the fans attacked me harshly, and the club president told me: “I’m not a security officer.”
Q: Why did you decide to attend the investigation today?
A: I had submitted a request to the Egyptian Football Association to transfer the investigation there, but it was rejected... so I came to the club.
Q: Why were you seen at the U.S. Embassy?
A: That’s a personal matter… I was going on vacation.
Zizo had been absent from training since April 9 and only recently returned to train individually after ignoring three official summonses to attend the investigation.
This morning, the player arrived at Zamalek’s headquarters, held a solo training session, and left the club immediately after the investigation concluded.
