Surprise Explanation for Haitham Hassan's Absence ⚽
Haitham Hassan's absence from Egypt's group stage matches sparked widespread debate among fans, especially given the player's impressive abilities and the expectations surrounding his involvement with the national team.
Farag Amer clarified that the player's absence had nothing to do with technical decisions or coaching preferences. Instead, it was caused entirely by an administrative matter that needed to be resolved before he could officially participate.
Administrative Procedure Delayed His Participation 📢
According to Farag Amer, Haitham Hassan had previously represented France at youth level, which required an administrative update through FIFA's registration system after he committed to representing Egypt.
Amer explained that fielding the player before completing the required procedure could have exposed Egypt to disciplinary action, including the possible deduction of three points. For that reason, officials chose to wait until all paperwork had been finalized.
No Technical Decision Behind the Absence 🔥
Farag Amer stressed that the player's absence was not the result of favoritism or a coaching decision.
He added that the issue stemmed from an administrative step that had not been completed on time before it was eventually resolved, allowing the player to become eligible for official matches without any regulatory concerns.
