Al Ittihad of Alexandria is close to finalizing an agreement with coach Ahmed Samy to take over the technical leadership of the club’s first football team. This move comes as part of the club’s preparations for the new season and its efforts to reorganize and deliver a strong performance worthy of the title “Leader of the North.”

Ahmed Samy is currently heading to Alexandria to hold an important meeting with club officials in preparation for finalizing the agreement and signing the contract officially. The meeting will include Ahmed Abdel Meguid (Vice President and Acting Chairman), Mohamed Ahmed Salama (Board Member), and Captain Mohamed Omar (Head of the Football Committee).

In recent weeks, both parties have engaged in intensive negotiations, reaching a preliminary agreement that covers all technical and financial details. Only a few minor administrative matters remain before the club can make the official announcement of Samy’s appointment as head coach, replacing the previous technical staff.
This decision reflects the club’s desire to appoint a coach with experience and the ability to bring technical stability — qualities they found in Ahmed Samy, who has a solid managerial record with several Egyptian Premier League clubs.

In a separate development, the club announced on Monday that the legal deadline for former chairman Mohamed Moselhi to withdraw his resignation has officially expired. According to the club’s bylaws, his resignation is now final and binding, potentially paving the way for administrative changes in the near future.

It’s worth noting that Al Ittihad’s management is currently focused on rebuilding the team on solid foundations — including appointing a capable technical staff and making well-planned transfer market reinforcements — in line with fans’ ambitions and the club’s goals for a successful upcoming season.
