Haitham Hassan Attracts European Interest as Real Oviedo Stand Firm
Egyptian winger Haitham Hassan has become one of the most talked-about players in the summer transfer market after impressing with the Egypt national team during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. His outstanding performances have drawn the attention of several European clubs looking to strengthen their squads.
European Clubs Target Haitham Hassan
Following an impressive World Cup campaign, Haitham Hassan has emerged as a priority target for multiple European teams. Reports indicate that Real Oviedo has already received several inquiries and preliminary offers for the Egyptian winger during the current transfer window. The Spanish club, however, remains determined to keep the player unless its financial demands are fully met.
Real Oviedo Set a Clear Condition for His Departure
Real Oviedo has made its position clear regarding Hassan's future, insisting that any interested club must meet the player's release clause.
€12 Million Release Clause
The Spanish side values Haitham Hassan highly after his recent performances and will only consider selling him if a club activates his €12 million release clause.
Celtic's Offer Rejected
Spanish media reports revealed that Scottish champions Celtic submitted an official offer worth €5 million to sign the Egyptian winger.
Bid Falls Short of Oviedo's Valuation
Real Oviedo rejected the proposal, believing the offer does not reflect Hassan's current market value following his impressive displays for Egypt.
Villarreal Clause Complicates Future Transfer
Any potential transfer is also affected by a previous agreement between Real Oviedo and Villarreal.
40% of Future Sale Profit
Under the existing agreement, Villarreal is entitled to 40% of the profit from any future transfer involving Haitham Hassan. This clause is one of the main reasons why Oviedo is demanding a high transfer fee.
World Cup Performances Boosted His Market Value
Haitham Hassan enjoyed a breakthrough tournament with Egypt, particularly during the Round of 16 clash against Argentina, where he delivered an outstanding performance and assisted Egypt's opening goal. His displays significantly increased his market value and established him as one of Egypt's most promising football talents.
Will Haitham Hassan Leave This Summer?
Although interest from European clubs continues to grow, Real Oviedo remains firm in its stance. Unless a club meets the €12 million release clause, the Egyptian winger is expected to remain with the Spanish side for the upcoming season.
