Omar Sayed Moawad Adds Another Milestone With Al Ahly
Omar Sayed Moawad continued to attract attention with Al Ahly after scoring during the team’s emphatic 5-0 victory over Petrojet in the opening round of the Egypt Capital Cup.
The young forward scored Al Ahly’s fifth goal in the 79th minute, taking his total to two goals with the senior team and creating a remarkable statistical coincidence with his father, former Al Ahly player Sayed Moawad.
⭐ Omar Matches His Father’s Total in Far Fewer Minutes
The most striking part of the comparison is the number of minutes required to reach the two-goal mark.
Omar Sayed Moawad has scored his two goals in just 257 minutes across nine appearances for Al Ahly.
That means he has already matched his father’s total of two goals for the club despite having played a fraction of the minutes Sayed Moawad accumulated during his Al Ahly career.
Sayed Moawad made 154 appearances for Al Ahly and played a total of 11,373 minutes, scoring two goals during that period.
The comparison between father and son became one of the most notable statistics surrounding Al Ahly’s victory over Petrojet.
🔥 Two Al Ahly Goals for Omar Since His First-Team Debut
Omar’s goal against Petrojet was not his first for Al Ahly.
The young player previously scored his first goal for the club during the previous edition of the Egypt Capital Cup, finding the net against Ghazl El Mahalla.
He returned to the scoresheet against Petrojet, taking advantage of his opportunity and adding another goal to his growing record with the first team.
Meanwhile, his father Sayed Moawad scored two goals during his Al Ahly career. His first came against Petrojet in the Egyptian Premier League, while his second was scored against Tanzanian side Young Africans in the CAF Champions League.
🏆 Al Ahly Thrash Petrojet 5-0
Al Ahly opened their Egypt Capital Cup campaign with an impressive 5-0 victory over Petrojet.
Mohamed Magdy Afsha opened the scoring in the fourth minute before Moroccan striker Soufiane Benjedida doubled the lead in the 33rd minute, scoring his first goal for Al Ahly.
Hussein El Shahat then took center stage in the second half, scoring Al Ahly’s third goal in the 58th minute.
Just three minutes later, El Shahat found the net again to make it 4-0.
Omar Sayed Moawad completed the five-goal victory in the 79th minute, adding his second goal for Al Ahly and creating the historic statistical link with his father.
📢 Al Ahly Begin Group Campaign With Three Points
The victory gave Al Ahly their first three points in Group C of the Egypt Capital Cup.
The group also includes Petrojet, El Gouna, El Sharqia, ENPPI and Arab Contractors.
Al Ahly’s next group-stage match will be against Arab Contractors on December 2 at Cairo Stadium.
The team will then face ENPPI on January 20, 2027, at Al Salam Stadium before concluding its group campaign against El Gouna on February 15, 2027, at Cairo Stadium.
Can Omar Sayed Moawad continue scoring and build his own successful career with Al Ahly while gradually moving beyond comparisons with his father?
