Chelsea announce that all women’s team home matches will be played at Stamford Bridge from next season
English club Chelsea has officially announced a historic decision: the women’s team will play all their Women’s Super League home matches at “Stamford Bridge” starting next season 🏟️🔵.
The move follows a growing trend in English football, with clubs such as Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Leicester City also hosting their women’s teams at their main stadiums ⚽🔥.
Since 2017, Chelsea Women have played at Kingsmeadow, while Stamford Bridge was only used for selected fixtures, including Champions League matches.
Kingsmeadow has a capacity of around 4,850 fans, while Stamford Bridge can host more than 41,000 spectators, marking a major upgrade in visibility and fan experience 📈🏟️.
Players described the move as emotional but exciting, calling it “a new era” while reaffirming their ambition to continue winning titles and building on the club’s legacy 🔥🏆.
The club also confirmed that Kingsmeadow will now be dedicated to academy matches moving forward.
