Hossam Abdel Meguid’s financial dispute with former club Zamalek has escalated after the defender formally demanded around EGP 800,000, with the possibility of taking the case to FIFA if no settlement is reached. Zamalek, however, insist the amount is linked to bonuses and contractual deductions rather than overdue wages.

Abdel Meguid Sends Formal Notice to Zamalek

A new dispute has emerged between Hossam Abdel Meguid, the former Zamalek defender who now plays for Bulgarian club Ludogorets, and his former club over financial payments that the player believes remain unpaid.

On Sport reporter Ahmed El-Masry revealed that Abdel Meguid could take the matter to FIFA if Zamalek fail to settle the disputed amount.

Sources close to the player claim that the outstanding figure is around EGP 800,000, prompting Abdel Meguid to begin formal procedures against the club.

🔥 EGP 800,000 Dispute and Zamalek’s Response

The central issue is not only the amount itself but also how the payment should be calculated.

While sources close to Abdel Meguid maintain that approximately EGP 800,000 remains due, Zamalek have offered a different explanation, insisting that the figure does not represent overdue financial dues.

A club source said the disputed amount is connected to bonuses and deductions under the team’s regulations, including a 10% deduction linked to the failure to win two or more titles during the season, as well as other deductions and disciplinary fines. The club also referred to a national-team participation bonus subject to a specific appearance percentage.

📢 Conflicting Reports Over the Deadline

There is also conflicting information regarding the deadline given to Zamalek.

Some reports have referred to a 10-day deadline, while sources close to Abdel Meguid said the formal notice gives the club 30 days to resolve the dispute before further legal action is considered.

Should no agreement be reached, the player could first seek action through the Egyptian Football Association before potentially escalating the matter to FIFA.

⭐ Abdel Meguid’s Agent Provides New Update

In a new development, Samer Salama, Abdel Meguid’s agent, said Zamalek had not officially informed the player or his representatives of any deductions from his financial dues.

The statement adds another layer to the dispute, as the club maintains that deductions were applied according to its internal regulations.

Zamalek have also stated that the player’s financial situation was settled, pointing to a payment of EGP 1.5 million on September 23 and arguing that no overdue amount remains after the relevant deductions.

🏆 Abdel Meguid Begins New Chapter in Bulgaria

Abdel Meguid left Zamalek during the summer transfer window and joined Ludogorets, beginning his first European professional experience.

Despite moving abroad and continuing to represent Egypt during the latest international break, his financial dispute with Zamalek remains unresolved, with both sides offering different accounts of the money involved.

The coming period could therefore determine whether the issue ends through an agreement or develops into a formal sporting dispute.

Will Hossam Abdel Meguid and Zamalek reach an agreement, or will the case eventually reach FIFA? 🏹🔥
