Hossam Hassan, head coach of the Egypt national team, has decided to pardon Imam Ashour, Al Ahly player, after his official apology to the coaching staff following the Egyptian Premier League title win. The player is expected to join the next national team training camp, provided he maintains his performance level and continues to shine.

Meanwhile, Ibrahim Hassan, the team manager, stated in press remarks that all national team players are considered like brothers to him, emphasizing mutual respect and appreciation between the coaching staff and the players. He explained that the main goal is to serve the national team’s interests, raise Egypt’s name in international forums, return to winning titles, and enhance the team’s status.

Imam Ashour had been excluded from recent national team camps as a disciplinary measure by the coaching staff, led by the twins Hossam and Ibrahim Hassan, due to behavior issues during a previous camp. In a new development, the player posted a message on his official Instagram account celebrating his achievement as the league’s top scorer and issued an official apology to the coaching staff, which helped reopen the door for his return.

The Egypt national team is preparing for important matches in September as part of rounds seven and eight of the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, where they will face Ethiopia and Burkina Faso. Hopes are rising to regain all the team’s star players to achieve the desired results and qualify for the finals.
