Hossam Hassan: I Welcome Positive Criticism and Support the National Coach
Egypt’s national team coach emphasizes learning from recent friendlies and calls for support for national coaches while building a new generation.
Hossam Hassan, head coach of Egypt’s senior national team, said after securing third place in the Al Ain International Friendly Tournament in the UAE: "We benefited from the two friendlies with several promising players emerging, and I aim to maximize these opportunities before the Africa Cup of Nations." ⚽
In a post-match press conference, Hassan added: "I thank the players for their efforts. Fatigue and match congestion caused some injuries and absences, but these did not affect us."
He stressed: "I hope for full support for the national coach. I also wish that all coaches at various levels are Egyptians, to build a new generation of coaches, as is done in many countries."
Hassan continued: "We qualified for the World Cup without defeat, and the same applies to the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Football in Africa is evolving, and some strong teams did not qualify."
He concluded: "I welcome only positive and constructive criticism, and I respect feedback aimed at improving the team."
