Hossam Hassan’s Wife Accuses Him of Assaulting Her with Thugs Over Personal Property Dispute

The public prosecution authorities in Alexandria continue their investigation into the ongoing dispute between Captain Hossam Hassan, head coach of Egypt’s national football team, and his wife, Dana, following mutual legal complaints stemming from a family conflict that has recently escalated significantly.
The wife filed an official complaint accusing her husband of assaulting her with the help of several individuals inside a villa in the King Mariout area, west of the governorate. She stated that the incident occurred late at night and claimed she was threatened and intimidated. In response, Captain Hossam Hassan submitted a counter-complaint, accusing her of renting out the disputed villa without his knowledge or consent.
This investigation follows a previous incident in April when a major disagreement erupted between the couple after the wife sent a message through a social media app, which Hossam considered offensive and defamatory. That led him to file a complaint with the Economic Prosecution. The case was referred to the Public Prosecution, where both parties appeared, reconciled, and the matter was closed accordingly.
However, tensions flared again, prompting the intervention of the Raml First Prosecution Office in Alexandria. Both Hossam Hassan and his wife, along with their lawyer, appeared at the prosecution office to give statements regarding the new allegations. After several hours of legal discussion, the two agreed once again to reconcile, and an official report was filed to that effect.
The prosecution completed the necessary legal procedures for the reconciliation, and both parties left the prosecution office amid significant media attention, due to Hossam Hassan’s prominent status in Egyptian football and his current role with the national team.
Questions remain about the stability of their relationship after a series of personal crises that have spilled into the legal arena.
