Former Egypt star Ahmed Hassan confirmed that Hussein El Shahat, Al Ahly’s dynamic winger, is on the verge of renewing his contract with the club after showing notable flexibility during discussions over a new deal 🔴⚽.
Hassan wrote on Facebook:
> “A source at Al Ahly confirmed that Hussein El Shahat has shown great understanding in renewal talks and is close to officially signing. However, negotiations are still ongoing with Aliou Dieng, Ahmed Abdelkader, and Koka.”
At the same time, sports presenter Mohamed Farouk reported on his show “El Primo” on Ten TV that El Shahat is racing against time to recover from a hamstring tendon injury that has sidelined him recently.
According to Farouk, Al Ahly’s medical team, led by Dr. Ahmed Gaballah, is considering plasma injections to accelerate tissue healing and speed up his return to full fitness. The recovery period is expected to last around two months as the player follows an intensive rehabilitation plan.
El Shahat’s contract renewal talks come as Al Ahly aims to retain its key players ahead of a packed domestic and continental season. Coach Ricardo Soares reportedly wants to keep the squad stable and ready for upcoming challenges.
