🎙️ Egyptian sports journalist Islam Sadiq sparked debate on Facebook after posting a sharp question comparing the performance of Egypt’s football and handball systems over the past 20 years. He praised Dr. Hassan Mostafa, President of the International Handball Federation, for building a strong and independent handball structure free from interference and favoritism.

Sadiq wrote: “Over the last twenty years, why has Egyptian football failed in every aspect, while Dr. Hassan Mostafa has created generations of successful national handball teams and prevented any external meddling in the system?”

🏐 Meanwhile, sports critic Khaled Talaat attacked Zamalek SC’s management for neglecting their handball team, which has recently suffered a noticeable decline due to a lack of support.

Talaat revealed that just two years ago, Zamalek led Al Ahly in total handball championships by nine titles (67 for Zamalek vs. 58 for Ahly). However, in the last two seasons, Al Ahly has won 11 trophies while Zamalek failed to win any, bringing Ahly’s total to 69 compared to Zamalek’s 67.

He added with surprise: “What’s strange is that the club’s president, vice president, and a board member all come from handball backgrounds — yet the team’s performance has dropped drastically!”
