Former Al Ahly star Khaled Gadallah revealed details of the incident involving Rabie Yassin and Osama Hassan during a television appearance, stressing that he was present in the studio when the exchange took place.
Speaking on the “Number One” program hosted by Mohamed Shabana on CBC, Gadallah said Rabie Yassin became upset after feeling that Osama Hassan was interrupting him in a way he interpreted as diminishing Al Ahly.
Gadallah added that Osama Hassan later explained during the commercial break that he had not intended to insult or belittle Al Ahly, while describing Rabie Yassin as a respected and well-mannered figure.
🧤 Gadallah Discusses Mostafa Shobeir and El Shenawy
The former Al Ahly star also discussed the club’s goalkeeping situation, saying that Mostafa Shobeir is currently, in his view, the first-choice goalkeeper for both Al Ahly and Egypt.
However, Gadallah stressed that Shobeir’s status does not diminish the achievements or importance of Mohamed El Shenawy, who has played a major role for both the club and the national team.
He said: “That is the way football works, and he has given Al Ahly and Egypt a lot.”

Gadallah also gave his opinion on Mohamed El Shenawy’s contract situation, describing a potential one-year extension offered by Al Ahly as a form of recognition for the goalkeeper’s career.
He suggested that continuing for another season could provide El Shenawy with another opportunity before potentially moving into an administrative role at the club in the future.
🔄 Al Ahly May Need Another Goalkeeper
Gadallah believes Al Ahly will eventually need to sign another goalkeeper after Mohamed El Shenawy’s retirement, alongside Mostafa Shobeir and Hamza Alaa.
The former player said maintaining competition in the position would give the coaching staff more options and provide additional depth.

Khaled Gadallah also assessed Al Ahly’s performances under Hussein Ammouta, giving the team a 6/10 rating so far.
