Arne Slot, head coach of Liverpool FC, emphasized that the club’s constant goal is to win the Premier League, noting that criticism and fan pressure are inseparable from life at Anfield.

Speaking ahead of their match against Qarabağ FK in the 2025-2026 UEFA Champions League, Slot said: "I spoke with Ibrahima Konaté and we know he’s going through a tough time. I hope he returns soon, but he won’t be ready for the next game. Regarding Andrew Robertson, it’s hard to confirm anything yet, but I expect him to stay with us."

He added: "It will be very difficult to silence the criticism at the moment, even with some wins. The noise comes back with every loss, and it’s impossible to stop in a club of this size if you’re not competing for the league."

Slot stressed: "If we improve in defense and attack, we can still achieve something remarkable this season. Even improving one aspect can make a big difference. If not, the criticism will continue."

He also highlighted that the biggest challenge for the team is competing in the Premier League and Champions League simultaneously, noting that any performance improvement could be decisive. Slot concluded: "Liverpool’s goal is always to win the league, but we’ve only achieved it twice in the past thirty years."
