Ronald Koeman, head coach of the Netherlands, praised his team after a 2-1 victory over Norway in Amsterdam as part of the Oranje’s World Cup preparations 🇳🇱🔥.
Norway took an early lead through Andreas Schjelderup, but Virgil van Dijk and Tijani Reijnders scored to secure the win for the Dutch.
Koeman said: “It was a very good game from our side against a strong team. Norway had good moments too, but overall I think we deserved the win.”
💬 Van Dijk: Work still needed
Despite the win, captain Van Dijk stressed more work is required before the World Cup: “There is still work to do, things were good at times and less so at others. The second half was better due to their fatigue, our defense was solid, we deserved the win, now we focus on the next game.”
🏆 World Cup preparations
Netherlands will face Ecuador in Eindhoven on Tuesday, then Algeria in June, as they prepare for the World Cup scheduled from June 11 to July 19 in North America 🇺🇸🇨🇦🇲🇽.
The Dutch are in Group F with Japan and Tunisia, with the winner of Poland vs Sweden playoff joining them 🔥.
