Reports have continued to swirl regarding the future of Colombian star Luis Díaz, Liverpool’s winger, amid growing speculation that he could leave the Reds during the current summer transfer window. His name has been linked with major European clubs, foremost among them Barcelona in Spain and Bayern Munich in Germany.

Trusted journalist Florian Plettenberg, Sky Sports’ Germany correspondent, reported that Díaz remains open to a move away from Liverpool—provided a sufficiently lucrative offer satisfies all parties. In a post on X, he explained that the English club is firmly refusing to enter into formal negotiations for the player’s departure, despite clear interest from both Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

In their bid to bolster the squad, Bayern’s sporting director Max Eberl has held fresh talks in recent days with Díaz’s representatives in an effort to revive negotiations, though the situation remains complicated by Liverpool’s unyielding stance.

Plettenberg noted that, to date, Bayern have not submitted any official bid nor reached an agreement, but that the Bavarian club continues to monitor developments closely.

Meanwhile, Spain’s AS newspaper revealed details of Díaz’s conditions for a move to Barcelona, reporting that his agent has insisted on including a clause in the contract requiring the Catalan club to pay compensation if the player is left out of the squad.
This clause is designed to protect Díaz from the possibility of missing matches—either through the winter window or for an entire season—if he is not officially registered, a situation that could harm both his form and his career.

According to these reports, Díaz is well aware of the potential risks of joining Barcelona without guarantees, yet he remains receptive to the idea of moving—so long as the club commits clearly to compensating him financially in the event of non-selection.

Amid these developments, Liverpool fans and the other interested clubs await Díaz’s final decision, which is expected in the coming weeks, leaving considerable uncertainty over the player’s next move.
