Manchester United is targeting a major swap deal with Napoli to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen during the summer transfer window, aiming to strengthen their attack after the painful loss in the Europa League final against Tottenham.

According to French media reports, the Red Devils plan to offer Danish forward Rasmus Højlund as part of the deal, along with a cash sum to compensate Napoli, in an effort to break the deadlock and fulfill their dream of signing Osimhen, who is still under contract with the Italian club.

However, Napoli, the current Serie A champions, has set a strict condition: they will only allow Osimhen to leave if they receive an additional €40 million on top of the value of Højlund, which complicates the negotiations significantly.

On the other hand, fierce competition exists with Saudi club Al Hilal, which has long been trying to sign the 26-year-old player. Although Al Hilal has received a verbal agreement from Osimhen, the deal still awaits final approval from the Saudi Public Investment Fund and the club, adding more complexity to the race.

Manchester United’s task appears difficult amid these circumstances, but the club is ready to do whatever it takes to complete the deal, which could reshape their attack for the upcoming season and satisfy their fans’ ambitions for trophies.
