Koller Officially Resolves Financial Dispute with Al Ahly in Heartfelt Farewell
In a gesture that brought clarity to his departure, Swiss coach Marcel Koller—former manager of Al Ahly—shared a series of photos on his official Instagram account, reflecting on his time with the club. The post coincided with an official announcement confirming the amicable resolution of his financial dispute with the club’s management.
Final Agreement Ends Dispute
Koller’s agent, Dino Lamberti, confirmed that a mutual settlement had been reached. Under the agreement, Koller received three months’ salary as notice compensation, in addition to all pending bonuses from the 2024–2025 season, effectively closing the chapter on any financial disagreement.
Praise for Al Ahly and Its Loyal Fans
Lamberti stated:
"In the spirit of mutual respect between Marcel Koller and Al Ahly, all matters related to the coach’s contract have been settled amicably. Mr. Koller received all his dues. We deeply value our relationship with the club’s board and its passionate fans. We wish them continued success in the future."
Contract Details and Compensation
Koller’s contract was originally set to run until June 2026, with a monthly salary of €250,000. However, following his departure in April 2025 after the team’s exit from the CAF Champions League semi-final, both parties agreed on a three-month payout, foregoing any further financial demands—an outcome reflecting mutual professionalism.
A Triumphant Spell Ends on a Respectful Note
Koller enjoyed a highly successful tenure at Al Ahly, winning multiple local and continental titles. Although his departure came earlier than expected, he left with dignity, expressing appreciation for the club and its supporters. His legacy remains intact among fans and football observers in Egypt.
