The head coach of Pyramids FC, Croatian Krunoslav Jurčić, expressed his great pride in his team reaching the CAF Champions League final, describing the qualification as a “great reward” for everyone associated with the club and the natural result of an exceptional season of hard work and dedication.

The dream final against Sundowns

Pyramids are preparing for a tough showdown against the South African giant Mamelodi Sundowns in the first leg of the Champions League final, scheduled for Saturday, May 24 in Pretoria, with the second leg to take place on June 1 in Cairo.
“A miracle after 7 years”
Jurčić stated during the press conference that for a club founded less than seven years ago, and participating in the competition for only the second time, reaching the Champions League final is a “football miracle” that reflects the level of effort and development within the club.

The toughest challenge in my career
The Pyramids coach described the match against Sundowns as “the toughest challenge” in his coaching career, while expressing great respect for the opponent and their continental experience. At the same time, he expressed full confidence in his players’ ability to win the title.

“We won’t defend... we’ll attack confidently”
Jurčić added that his team will not go to South Africa just to defend, saying: “We have players capable of taking the initiative and attacking. We play real football and do not rely on caution alone. We are going there to make history.”

Three finals in 10 days
He explained that Pyramids are undergoing an unprecedented physical and mental pressure period, competing for three titles within just 10 days — the Champions League final, the Egypt Cup final, and a decisive league match — something no Egyptian team has experienced before.

Self-reliance and belief in the players
Jurčić concluded his statements with a clear message: “Pyramids depend only on themselves, our management is committed, and our players are fighters. We trust ourselves and will fight to achieve glory, no matter the challenges.”
