Medhat Shalaby Drops a Bombshell: No Offers from Zamalek to Sign Petrojet Star
Medhat Shalaby denies the existence of official negotiations between Zamalek and Petrojet for the signing of Hamed Hamdan.
During his show "Ya Masaa’ El Anwar" on MBC Masr 2, media personality Medhat Shalaby revealed the real stance of Zamalek SC regarding the rumors of negotiations with Petrojet to sign Palestinian striker Hamed Hamdan during the current summer transfer window.
Shalaby confirmed that Zamalek’s management has not made any official contact with Petrojet officials concerning the player. He clarified that all the talk circulating in the media and on social platforms is merely verbal discussion and initial speculation that hasn’t reached the level of formal negotiations.
He added that the communication came via the player's agent, who informally reached out to some former Zamalek officials in an attempt to explore the possibility of Hamdan joining the club. However, no official documents were submitted, and no direct negotiations have taken place between the two clubs to date.
Shalaby pointed out that the current Zamalek administration, led by the interim football committee, is following a well-structured plan for the summer transfer market. Their focus is on strengthening specific positions based on the technical staff’s recommendations, and so far, there are no signs that Hamed Hamdan is among the club's current priorities.
These statements serve to put an end to the recent rumors, especially with the increasing buzz on social media and websites suggesting the player's imminent move to Zamalek. Shalaby clearly denied those claims, emphasizing that such reports are merely speculation or inaccurate leaks.
At the same time, Shalaby acknowledged that Hamdan possesses notable attacking qualities and talent, which could make him a target for several clubs in the future. However, as of now, there are no real negotiations with Zamalek, which continues to assess a number of options in preparation for high-impact signings that will support the team’s ambitions in the upcoming season.
