Medhat Shalaby Exposes Secrets of Zamalek’s Decisive Meeting
Medhat Shalaby reveals that Zamalek’s Board of Directors unanimously approved the football development plan.
Renowned media figure Medhat Shalaby, during his show “Masaa’ Al Anwar” on MBC Masr 2, unveiled the behind-the-scenes details of the meeting held by Zamalek SC’s Board of Directors on Wednesday evening at the club’s headquarters. The meeting focused on discussing the comprehensive plan presented by newly appointed Head of Recruitment, John Edward, aimed at developing the club’s football sector.
Shalaby explained that the meeting came as part of the board’s recent efforts to correct the club’s course and establish a strong foundation for restructuring the football system. This move reflects the current committee’s desire to build a technical and administrative project capable of achieving long-term planning and sporting stability.
All board members attended the meeting except Dr. Hossam El-Mandouh, who was absent due to an official session at the House of Representatives. The remaining members engaged in an in-depth discussion of the new plan’s points and responded positively to Edward’s proposals.
Shalaby confirmed that all the plan’s components received unanimous approval from the board, with no objections or reservations—demonstrating a strong internal consensus regarding the new vision for developing the first team, youth academy, and recruitment system.
At the same time, Shalaby refuted recent media and social media claims suggesting disagreements or divisions within the board. He stressed that such rumors are baseless and aim only to stir confusion during a critical phase for the club.
He concluded by emphasizing that Zamalek is making confident strides toward comprehensive reform in its football operations, as the board seeks to build a modern, scientifically planned, and professional structure in preparation for a strong upcoming season that befits the club’s legacy and stature.
