Zamalek SC’s Board of Directors is set to hold a decisive meeting at 5 p.m. today to determine the new Contracting Director—a step many consider the beginning of a restructuring phase within the White Castle ahead of the new season.
According to informed sources, the club’s planning committee nominated John Edward for the position. However, this nomination has sparked significant division within the board. Several members objected to the proposal, citing Edward's previous affiliation with Al Ahly, his connection to the agency representing Ahly player Ali Maaloul, and past controversies, most notably a transfer deal that led to a registration ban on Pharco FC.
These disagreements have prompted the board to reevaluate the decision. Alternative candidates are now being considered, and a final announcement is expected within the coming hours. The planning committee, however, has remained tight-lipped about the matter.
Meanwhile, Zamalek’s technical staff, led by Ayman Al-Ramadi, has decided to grant the players a day off from training on Sunday following their victory over Petrojet in the Egyptian Premier League. The team is scheduled to resume training on Monday in preparation for their match against Pharco, set to take place on May 31 in the final round of the league season.
