Michalak Sparks Controversy… Is He Threatening to File a Complaint Against Zamalek with FIFA? Board Member Responds and Settles the Debate
Zamalek responds to reports of Michalak’s complaint and reveals updates on coaches' and players' cases.
Amr Adham, a member of Zamalek SC’s board of directors, expressed his surprise at recent media reports claiming that Polish player Konrad Michalak had submitted a new complaint against the club to FIFA. He clarified that the complaint in question is not new but dates back to the player’s departure from the White Knights. The club has been fully aware of the case from the beginning.
Adham emphasized that there are no new developments in the matter, and the resurfacing of the case at this particular time raises questions—especially since FIFA has not issued any official decision yet. He suggested that bringing up such cases while the club is actively working to resolve longstanding financial issues may be an attempt to distract from recent administrative accomplishments.
He also addressed the ongoing efforts to settle the dues of the club’s former technical staff led by Portuguese coach José Gomes, confirming the board’s full commitment to paying the coaching team their financial entitlements without delay. This falls within a broader strategy to resolve all pending issues involving foreign parties.
Adham further noted that the case of former Senegalese player Ibrahima Ndiaye remains open, and the club is dealing with it through legal and organized channels in preparation for an appropriate settlement.
In a positive development, Adham announced that the club had received an official letter from the lawyer of former Portuguese coach Jaime Pacheco confirming that he had received all his financial dues. This, Adham said, marks another achievement for the current board in its mission to close international legal cases.
He concluded by affirming that the board is following a systematic plan to settle all outstanding obligations, aiming to ensure financial and administrative stability within the club and protect Zamalek’s rights in front of international bodies—efforts that are already yielding tangible results.
