On this day last year, the Egyptian and Arab football community lost one of the brightest stars in recent memory. Despite his young age, Ahmed Refaat was a symbol of talent and dedication. His sudden passing left a deep impact on his fans and teammates, both on and off the field.
A Promising Talent from the Start
Ahmed Refaat was born on September 21, 1993. His football journey began in the youth academy of ENPPI Club, where his exceptional skills and remarkable speed became evident early on. He later joined Zamalek SC, where he established himself as a key player in the left-wing position, impressing with his precise passes and decisive dribbles.

A Short but Remarkable Career
Throughout his career, Refaat played for several prominent clubs in the Egyptian Premier League, including ENPPI, Al Ittihad of Alexandria, Al Masry, and Future FC. He also had a brief stint in the UAE Pro League with Al Wahda Club.
Refaat was also a notable presence in Egypt’s national teams, representing both the senior team and the local-based national team in various tournaments, securing his place as one of the most outstanding players of his generation.
A Tragedy on the Pitch
In a shocking incident during a match between Future FC and Al Ittihad in April 2024, Refaat collapsed on the pitch without any physical contact. Medical teams rushed to his aid, and it was later revealed he had suffered a sudden cardiac arrest.

Although his career was cut short, Ahmed Refaat's contributions on the field remain etched in the memory of fans.
