📢 Abdel Monsef Discusses Mahmoud Salah’s International Future
Mohamed Abdel Monsef, a coach within Egypt’s youth national teams, has discussed Mahmoud Salah’s prospects of joining the senior Egypt national team, saying the young Al Ahly player has the qualities needed to reach the highest level.
Speaking to presenter Karim Ramzy on Mega FM, Abdel Monsef explained that he had been impressed by Salah long before his move to Al Ahly, particularly during his time at Ghazl El Mahalla.
The coach believes the player’s recent development has strengthened his chances of moving to a higher level, both with Al Ahly and internationally.
⭐ “I Always Believed He Had a Big Future”
Abdel Monsef recalled watching Mahmoud Salah closely during his time at Ghazl El Mahalla and said he had already seen the potential for the youngster to build an impressive career.
He also explained that comparisons between Salah and other Egyptian league players could be beneficial, although they also reflect the growing expectations surrounding the young footballer.
According to Abdel Monsef, the current generation of young Egyptian players has strong personalities and competitive qualities, which could help Salah continue developing and establish himself among the country’s promising talents.
🔥 Hossam Hassan Has Been Monitoring Him
Abdel Monsef also revealed that Egypt head coach Hossam Hassan has been following Mahmoud Salah for some time, particularly after the player’s impressive performances during last season with Ghazl El Mahalla.
According to Abdel Monsef, the interest in Salah is not recent, opening the possibility of the youngster receiving an opportunity with the senior national team if he continues to develop and perform at the required level.
Salah attracted attention during his previous campaign with Ghazl El Mahalla, making 28 appearances, scoring four goals and providing three assists, according to published season data.
🏆 From Ghazl El Mahalla to Al Ahly
Mahmoud Salah’s move to Al Ahly followed lengthy negotiations during the summer transfer window, with the Cairo giants eventually completing the signing of the 18-year-old, who was born in 2007.
The move underlines the expectations surrounding the youngster, particularly because he joined one of Africa’s biggest clubs at a relatively young age.
Playing for Al Ahly also gives Salah an important platform to develop, although it comes with significantly greater pressure to perform and establish himself.
🇪🇬 Could Salah Join the Pharaohs Soon?
For now, Mahmoud Salah’s potential senior international debut remains dependent on his continued development and the decision of Hossam Hassan’s coaching staff.
Egypt have already shown a willingness to include younger players alongside experienced stars in recent squads, creating a pathway for emerging talents to break into the senior team.
Therefore, Abdel Monsef’s comments should be viewed as an indication of interest and a prediction about Salah’s international future, rather than an official announcement that the player has been selected for the senior team.
With his development continuing at Al Ahly and with Egypt’s youth setup, attention will now turn to whether Salah can make the next step and become part of the Pharaohs’ senior squad.
Do you think Mahmoud Salah will receive a call-up to Egypt’s senior national team soon? 🇪🇬⚽
