🚗 Mohamed Salah Receives Six-Month Driving Ban
Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, currently playing for Turkish club Trabzonspor, has reportedly been banned from driving in England for six months over an incident involving his private vehicle, according to British media reports.
The decision comes shortly after Salah’s departure from Liverpool, where he spent nine seasons at Anfield before moving to Trabzonspor in Turkey.
⚖️ How Did the Case Begin?
According to British newspaper The Sun, the driving ban was issued just two days after Salah’s departure from Liverpool was announced.
The newspaper reported that a mobile speed camera detected a Rolls-Royce, reportedly worth around £400,000, traveling above the legal speed limit in Wilmslow, Cheshire, in March.
📸 Failure to Identify the Driver Led to Conviction
The report stated that Salah did not identify the person who was driving the vehicle at the time of the incident and also failed to respond to letters sent to him by the court.
He was subsequently convicted in his absence by magistrates in Warrington, resulting in a six-month driving ban.
The newspaper also reported that the allegation of actually exceeding the 30 mph speed limit was dropped, while the conviction was instead related to the failure to provide information identifying the driver.
💷 Fine and Additional Costs
In addition to the driving ban, Salah was fined £660, along with £120 in court costs and £264 in victim surcharge fees.
According to the reported figures, the total financial amount connected to the case reached £1,044.
🛑 Not Salah’s First Traffic Offence in England
The latest incident is not the first traffic-related case involving Mohamed Salah during his time in England.
In 2022, Salah was reportedly caught driving his Ferrari F8 Tributo at 63 mph in an area of Stockport where the maximum permitted speed was 50 mph. He received a £200 fine for that incident.
In 2018, Salah was also filmed using a mobile phone while driving near Anfield. He was not prosecuted in that case because of insufficient evidence.
⭐ Case Dates Back to Salah’s Time in England
The latest penalty comes after Salah had already left England for Turkish football, although the incident itself occurred while he was still in the country.
The Egyptian star is now continuing his career with Trabzonspor, while the legal consequences of the latest driving case remain separate from his football activities.
