The CIES Football Observatory released its latest report on the world’s highest “earned salaries” among active contracts. French star Kylian Mbappé, forward for Real Madrid and France, tops the list with an annual salary of €22.8 million 💶⚽.
Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah, of Liverpool and the Egyptian national team, ranks second with €17.9 million per year, ahead of English midfielder Jude Bellingham, Mbappé’s teammate at Real Madrid, who earns €17.5 million annually.
The CIES report considers multiple factors, including playing minutes, match level, starting appearances, and player position on the field.
Other top earners include João Nunes (Portugal/Paris Saint-Germain) in fourth place with €17.3 million, Liverpool’s Dominik Szoboszlai fifth with €17.1 million, while Ousmane Dembélé and Julián Álvarez are sixth with €16.9 million each. Argentine striker Lautaro Martínez and Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal share seventh place with €16.7 million each 🌍🔥.
