🚗 Mohamed Salah Receives Driving Ban in England
British newspaper The Sun has revealed further details about the driving ban imposed on Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, currently playing for Trabzonspor in Turkey, following an incident involving his luxury car.
A court banned Salah from driving for six months and imposed a financial penalty and court-related costs in a case dating back to March.
⭐ Rolls-Royce Spectre at the Center of the Case
According to The Sun, the vehicle involved was a Rolls-Royce Spectre reportedly worth around £400,000.
The car was recorded by monitoring cameras exceeding the legal speed limit in Wilmslow, Cheshire, with the incident taking place in March.
The report noted that the incident occurred before Salah moved to Trabzonspor and after the Egyptian announced his departure from Liverpool.
⚖️ Why Was Salah Convicted?
British reports clarified that the conviction was not ultimately for the speeding offence itself, as the speeding charge was withdrawn.
Instead, Salah was convicted for failing to identify the person who was driving the car when the traffic violation was recorded.
According to the report, two court summonses were sent to Salah’s home in England, but he did not respond, resulting in the case being heard in his absence.
💰 Six-Month Ban and £1,044 in Payments
The court imposed a six-month driving ban on Mohamed Salah and ordered him to pay a £660 fine.
He was also ordered to pay £120 in court costs and an additional £264 victim-support surcharge.
The total amount payable therefore reached £1,044, in addition to the six-month driving ban.
🔙 Incident Occurred Before Move to Trabzonspor
The case dates back to a transitional period in Mohamed Salah’s career in England, after he announced his departure from Liverpool and before beginning his new chapter with Trabzonspor in Turkish football.
Salah is now continuing his football career in Turkey, while the court case relates to a traffic incident that occurred during his time in England.
🚘 Salah Had a Previous Traffic Violation in 2022
This is not the first traffic-related incident involving Mohamed Salah in England.
In 2022, he was reportedly recorded driving a Ferrari F8 Tributo at 63mph in an area where the speed limit was 50mph.
He received a £200 fine at the time, along with three penalty points on his driving licence.
📌 Case Focused on Driver Identification
The latest case has attracted attention because Salah’s conviction was linked to his failure to identify the driver of the vehicle rather than a final conviction for the speeding offence itself, after the speeding charge was withdrawn.
