⚽ Zamalek Players Given an Extra Day Off
Media personality Mohamed Shabana has revealed new developments at Zamalek amid an ongoing dispute over players’ financial dues, saying the squad was given an additional day off before returning to training.
Speaking on the “Number One” program on CBC, Shabana said Zamalek players had originally been expected to resume training, but head coach Mo’tamed Gamal granted them an extra day off.
According to Shabana, the decision was intended to give the club’s management additional time to address outstanding player payments, particularly as some players had reportedly objected to the delays.
📢 Bezerra Money Sparks Disagreement
Shabana also reported a disagreement within Zamalek’s board over how the money generated from Juan Bezerra’s transfer should be allocated.
He said Hussein El Sayed believes the funds should be directed toward settling the football team’s outstanding player dues, while Hossam El Mandouh pointed to salary obligations owed to club employees.
Shabana added that Hisham Nasr also raised the issue of outstanding payments owed to players in the club’s other team sports.
💰 Different Financial Priorities
According to Shabana, the disagreement reflects different financial priorities within the club rather than simply the availability of funds.
The football team remains in need of payments for its players, while the club also has financial obligations toward employees and other sporting departments.
🔥 Bezerra Funds to Cover Previous Season’s Dues
Shabana concluded by stating that the money generated from Bezerra’s transfer will be used to pay Zamalek players’ salaries and dues from the previous season only, according to the information he presented.
🏹 Zamalek Face Financial Pressure
The latest developments come as Zamalek seek greater stability within the first team, with regular training and player focus increasingly important ahead of upcoming commitments.
The handling of the outstanding dues and the final allocation of the Bezerra transfer funds remain among the club’s most closely followed financial issues.
