Mohamed Sherif confirms negotiations with 3 Egyptian clubs and hints at a move closer to Zamalek.
Striker Mohamed Sherif, player of Saudi club Al-Khaleej and former Al Ahly forward, has stirred considerable controversy in Egyptian sports circles following recent statements he made to media figure Ahmed Abdel Basset via a Facebook post, in which he discussed his football future for the upcoming season.
Sherif indicated that he has not yet made a final decision regarding his next move, stressing that he is carefully evaluating all offers presented to him in order to choose the best option for his professional career at this critical stage. In his statements, he said:
"I'm thinking very carefully before making a final decision. There's no reason to rush. I have plenty of time and I'm studying all available options in a way that serves my football future. Indeed, three Egyptian clubs have entered into serious negotiations with me in recent days."
Mohamed Sherif’s remarks come at a time when the local transfer market is witnessing a state of anticipation, especially with the return of several expatriate players to the Egyptian Premier League, amid intense competition among top clubs to strengthen their squads in preparation for the new season.
Sherif is considered one of the prominent names in Egyptian football in recent years. He joined Al Ahly in 2018 from Wadi Degla, before being loaned to ENPPI for the 2019–2020 season, where he delivered an impressive performance that caught the attention of Al Ahly's coaching staff. He returned to the Red Devils in 2021 and remained there until the summer of 2023, when he transferred to Al-Khaleej Club in Saudi Arabia.

"Mohamed Sherif’s transfer to Zamalek is very close, and a final decision on the deal may be made in the coming days."
The coming days are expected to bring decisive developments regarding the player’s transfer, amid growing interest from several local clubs and Sherif’s desire to choose the right environment to regain his form in Egyptian football.
