Media figure Ahmed Hassan sparked wide interaction on social media platforms after revealing a decisive decision made by Zamalek SC regarding the future of the first-team goalkeeper, Mohamed Sobhi, amid ongoing controversy over his fate during the current summer transfer window.

Ahmed Hassan wrote on his official Facebook page:
“Zamalek has made a final decision to retain Mohamed Sobhi in the squad for next season, thereby closing the door on all speculation about his departure.”

This statement coincided with other media reports suggesting that the international goalkeeper wishes to pursue a new experience outside the White Castle, specifically at Pyramids FC.
Media presenter Medhat Shalaby revealed, during his show “Ya Masa’ El Anwar” on MBC Masr 2, that the player had strongly expressed his desire to move to Pyramids during the summer mercato.

Shalaby said:
“Mohamed Sobhi wants to wear the Pyramids jersey this summer and has told those close to him about it.”
He continued, explaining:
“Zamalek had previously shown some flexibility regarding Sobhi’s departure, particularly in a potential swap deal through which they aim to acquire Mahmoud Saber and Mahmoud Zalaka—players of the Sky Blues—to strengthen the White Knights’ squad.”

Shalaby concluded his remarks by pointing out that the matter is still under consideration, and that the final decision regarding Sobhi’s transfer will be announced in the coming days, based on the outcome of negotiations between the two clubs.

In another context, sports commentator Medhat Shalaby stirred further controversy during his commentary on the match between Saudi side Al Hilal and Brazil’s Fluminense in the FIFA Club World Cup.
Mohamed El-Adl, former president of Al Ahly TV channel, sharply criticized him in a post on his official Facebook account, writing:

“Medhat Shalaby displays the highest level of bias. Personally, I don’t oppose football affiliations or preferences, but things should not cross professional boundaries and reach unacceptable levels.”

It appears that Shalaby’s recent comments and remarks have become a topic of ongoing debate and controversy among Egyptian football fans, reflecting a state of tension and polarization in the sports scene during the transfer season—both in terms of players and media personalities.
