Amid ongoing summer transfer activity in the Egyptian Premier League, a source close to Zamalek midfielder Nasser Maher has broken his silence to address recent rumors suggesting he might be involved in a potential swap deal between Zamalek and Pyramids FC.

The source confirmed that the player has not been informed of any official communication from Zamalek’s management—neither direct nor indirect—regarding negotiations that include his name as part of an exchange. He added that Nasser has not received any hints from club officials about a possible departure. On the contrary, the technical staff recently contacted him to coordinate the start of pre-season training, which officially kicked off today under the leadership of Belgian coach Yannick Ferrera.

The source clarified that Nasser Maher is currently fully focused on preparing seriously for the new season and aims to deliver strong performances that reflect his name and skill set—especially after gaining the confidence of the coaching staff in recent weeks. He added that leaving the club is not currently on the player’s agenda unless a formal decision is issued by the management, in which case Nasser will handle the situation professionally and choose the path he believes best serves his football career.
The source further emphasized that Nasser aspires to play a key role in the upcoming phase, particularly as Zamalek looks to get back on track and compete for local and continental titles—an effort that requires quality midfielders like Maher, who has the ability to make a difference.

Recent media reports had suggested that Zamalek’s board is considering entering negotiations with Pyramids FC over possible swap deals to strengthen both squads, although no official names have been disclosed.

It is worth noting that Nasser Maher joined Zamalek from Future FC and is known for his technical ability as a playmaker. His experience in high-pressure situations makes him, in the eyes of many, a valuable asset not easily expendable from a sporting standpoint
