Italy was not the only country to take a similar position, as the Romanian Football Federation also made a significant move on the same day after its executive committee voted against supporting Infantino for another term.

Romanian Football Federation president Răzvan Burleanu said that FIFA currently needs new leadership capable of achieving consensus and unity, restoring confidence and bringing the different sides of football together.
