The women’s competition saw 21 teams divided into six groups. Group One includes Egypt 1, Cameroon and Ivory Coast.
Group Two features Morocco 1, Senegal and Seychelles, while Group Three includes Mozambique 1, Burundi and Algeria.
Group Four includes Nigeria, Benin, Lesotho and Morocco 2, with this being the group where Nigeria defeated Benin.
Group Five features Cape Verde, Gambia, Tunisia and Mozambique 2, while Group Six brings together Kenya, Mauritius, South Africa and Egypt 2.

In the men’s competition, 24 teams were divided into six groups. Group One includes Egypt 1, Kenya and Mauritius.
