Gawhar Nabil arrived in the city of Jeddah accompanying Egypt’s national team delegation, in preparation for the anticipated friendly match against Saudi Arabia, as part of ongoing preparations for upcoming international competitions.
Upon his arrival, the Minister of Sports was received by Badr Al-Qadi, Deputy Minister of Sports of Saudi Arabia, representing Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, reflecting the strong sporting relations between the two countries.
The accompanying delegation included several Egyptian football officials, such as Hany Abu Rida and Khaled El-Darandaly, along with a number of board members, in an atmosphere that highlights the importance of the upcoming encounter.
The Minister of Youth and Sports expressed his gratitude to the Saudi side, led by Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, as well as the Saudi Football Federation, for their warm استقبال and for covering the costs of hosting the Egyptian national team, emphasizing that this initiative reflects the deep brotherly ties between the two nations.
The minister also welcomed the inclusion of player Haitham Hassan, who plays for Real Oviedo, into the Egyptian national team, noting that Egypt always opens its doors to its expatriate players who choose to represent their homeland.
Egypt’s national team is scheduled to face Saudi Arabia on March 27 in Jeddah, before heading to Barcelona to play Spain in a second friendly match on March 31, as part of a strong preparation program ahead of the World Cup.
