Pyramids FC has put an end to recent speculation regarding reports of negotiations with Palestinian striker Wissam Abu Ali, currently with Major League Soccer side Columbus Crew and formerly of Al Ahly SC. The club clarified that it has no intention of signing the player during the ongoing summer transfer window.

A senior source at the club stated that these rumors are completely unfounded, emphasizing that Wissam Abu Ali is not on the club’s recruitment list and holds no priority within the current phase of squad planning. The source added that the club has not opened any lines of communication with the player or his American club, whether regarding a loan or permanent move, firmly denying claims that Abu Ali is close to wearing the Pyramids shirt this season.

These statements come in response to recent reports suggesting that Abu Ali might be on his way back to the Egyptian Premier League following his departure from Al Ahly. However, Pyramids’ clear stance effectively shuts down such speculation and affirms that the club is operating under a carefully studied recruitment strategy guided by technical and professional considerations.

Meanwhile, a Turkish newspaper has reported that Trabzonspor has entered serious negotiations with Columbus Crew over the potential signing of Wissam Abu Ali. The club is reportedly seeking to bolster its attacking line ahead of the upcoming season, and a formal offer has already been submitted, with direct talks ongoing between the two sides to finalize the deal.

The report also noted that Wissam Abu Ali is open to the move and highly welcomes the idea of joining the Turkish league, viewing it as an important step in his professional journey that could offer more growth opportunities and competition in a league of higher technical caliber.

Recently, Al Ahly officially announced the sale of Wissam Abu Ali to Columbus Crew in a permanent deal, as part of a broader restructuring effort led by head coach Marcel Koller, particularly in the attacking department. His departure came amid fan anticipation, especially as the club has postponed signing a replacement striker, opting instead to thoroughly assess available options before making any formal move.

It is worth noting that Wissam Abu Ali initially joined Al Ahly from the Palestinian league and made only a few appearances before being sold, beginning a new chapter in the MLS—one that may soon shift again if an agreement is reached with Trabzonspor in the coming days.
