🏆 Qatar receives the Asian Games flag
Qatar officially received the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) flag during the closing ceremony of the 20th Asian Games, Aichi-Nagoya 2026, in Japan, formally beginning the next stage of preparations for the 21st edition of the continental sporting event in Doha in 2030.
Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani received the OCA flag on behalf of the State of Qatar during the official handover ceremony.
🇶🇦 Doha 2030 identity unveiled
The closing ceremony also featured the official unveiling of the Doha 2030 identity and its accompanying slogan, marking the beginning of a four-year journey toward hosting the next edition of the Asian Games.
The new identity will accompany Qatar throughout the coming years as preparations continue for the Asian Games in Doha in 2030, officially starting the countdown to the next continental multi-sport spectacle.
⭐ “Games for Life” reflects Doha’s vision
The Doha 2030 identity combines elements inspired by Qatari heritage with a clear focus on the future and the next generation, connecting the country’s cultural identity with the international nature of the Asian Games.
The slogan “The Games We Live For”, presented in Arabic as «ألعاب العمر», reflects the aspirations surrounding the event and the opportunities it offers athletes and nations to achieve success while inspiring audiences and future generations.
🔥 Doha prepares to host the Asian Games again
The upcoming edition carries particular significance for Qatari sport as the Asian Games return to Doha after the city previously hosted the event in 2006.
Qatar’s preparations for Doha 2030 are expected to build on the country’s extensive experience in staging major sporting events, as well as its established sports infrastructure and venues. The Doha 2030 organizing committee has also used the Aichi-Nagoya experience as part of its preparations, with its delegation participating in an observer program to gain insight into the organizational and operational aspects of hosting the Games.
📢 The road to Doha 2030 officially begins
With the OCA flag now formally handed over, the Asian Games move from Japan toward their next destination, as Qatar begins a new phase of preparation for the 2030 edition.
Over the next four years, Doha will work toward delivering an edition that combines its sporting ambitions, Qatari identity and organizational experience, while preparing to welcome athletes and delegations from across Asia.
