Egypt’s Paralympic star Rehab Radwan has once again made her nation proud after winning the gold medal in the 61kg women’s category at the World Para Powerlifting Championships, hosted for the first time in Africa in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital 🏋️♀️🇪🇬.
Rehab successfully lifted 131 kilograms to secure first place, surpassing Nigeria’s Ifioluwa Alake, who lifted 128 kilograms to claim silver, while her compatriot Franca Anigbogu took bronze with a lift of 126 kilograms.
This victory marks Egypt’s third medal in the senior competitions, following Mohamed El Miniawy’s gold in the 59kg category and Mohamed Sobhy’s bronze in the 88kg men’s division 👏🇪🇬.
The championship, which runs until October 17, will conclude on October 18 with team events for men, women, and mixed teams, followed by a grand closing ceremony celebrating the world’s top powerlifters 🌍🏅.
