The Egyptian men's team secured a convincing 2-0 victory over Gabon after controlling the match from the opening moments.

Egypt won the first set 21-14 before maintaining its advantage in the second set and closing it out 21-18, securing the match without the need for a deciding set.

In another encounter, Nigeria defeated Lesotho 2-0 after winning the first set 21-8 and the second 21-18.

Morocco also recorded another 2-0 victory over Benin, winning the first set 21-5 before taking the second 21-7.

🌍 Strong Competition for Olympic Qualification

The championship carries major importance, not only because it is one of the continent's leading beach volleyball competitions, but also because it is connected to qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

The men's champion and the women's champion will each earn a direct qualification spot for the Olympic Games, increasing the intensity of the competition and providing all participating teams with an additional motivation to achieve the best possible results.

The championship will continue until August 22, with 45 teams participating: 24 men's teams and 21 women's teams representing 28 African countries.
