Mohamed Salah joins fans in World Cup celebrations
Mohamed Salah, the Egyptian national team and Liverpool star, stepped onto the pitch of Cairo International Stadium after the final whistle of Egypt’s 1–0 victory over Guinea-Bissau in the last round of the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
Salah celebrated the historic achievement with fans and teammates in a festive atmosphere.
Early goal seals qualification
The match’s only goal came in the 10th minute of the first half after a smart corner kick from Ahmed Sayed Zizo. He passed the ball outside the box to Ahmed Nabil Koka, who delivered a precise cross into the area, where Mohamed Hamdy headed it powerfully into the right corner of the net.
A deserved World Cup ticket
Egypt secured qualification to the World Cup for the fourth time in its history after topping Group A with 26 points from 10 matches — achieving 8 wins and 2 draws without a single loss.
This qualification crowned a strong and stable qualifying campaign, proving the team’s readiness to shine on the world stage.
