Scan Confirms Al-Shenawy Suffered Grade 2 Groin Strain
Medical scans revealed that Al-Ahly goalkeeper Mohamed Al-Shenawy sustained a grade 2 groin strain, likely ruling him out of the club’s next CAF Champions League match.
Medical scans confirmed that Mohamed Al-Shenawy, Al-Ahly goalkeeper, suffered a grade 2 strain in the groin during the team’s opening CAF Champions League match against JS Kabylie.
Al-Shenawy is expected to be sidelined for 10 to 15 days, ruling him out of Al-Ahly’s upcoming clash against Raja Casablanca scheduled for Friday.
The injury occurred during the match, prompting the medical team to provide treatment on the field before the referee allowed a substitution due to Al-Shenawy’s inability to continue playing. He left the pitch supported by teammates and coaching staff. Mustafa Shobeir stepped in confidently, handling his first touch with composure and organizing the defense under intense pressure from the Algerian side.
