Ahmed Abdel Aziz Zizo, head coach of Smouha SC, commented on his team’s thrilling 2-1 victory over Pyramids in stoppage time, during the seventeenth round of the Egyptian Premier League.
Zizo stated that the players’ performance exceeded his expectations. He had motivated the team prior to the match, and the results on the pitch were a pleasant surprise. He emphasized that the team’s objective is to finish the first phase of the league among the top seven.
He added that Pyramids is a strong team with great capabilities, but Smouha prepared well and secured three valuable points, raising their tally to 25 points in fifth place, while Pyramids remained second with 28 points, behind Ceramica Cleopatra.
Zizo concluded by saying that early-season results were not always favorable, yet continuous effort and adherence to a cost-effective transfer policy helped the team perform impressively under current circumstances.
