In an official statement on its website, Manchester United announced the signing of talented Cameroonian star Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford. The deal will run until June 2030, with an option to extend for an additional season, as part of the club’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the squad ahead of the new season.

The club confirmed that the move is still subject to the completion of formal registration procedures, but all details have been finalized with the player and his representatives. The 25-year-old forward had a sensational campaign last season, scoring 20 goals and providing 8 assists in the Premier League, establishing himself as one of the most effective attacking contributors and a standout talent in English football.

In his first statement after the announcement, Mbeumo expressed immense joy over joining the Red Devils, stating he didn’t hesitate for a second once the offer arrived—especially as he has been a lifelong fan of the club and dreamed of wearing the iconic United jersey. “This move marks a huge step in my career. I know the challenge is big, but I’m full of determination and ready to give my all for the team,” he said.

He continued, “I’m really excited to work under Rubén Amorim and learn from this ambitious coaching staff. I look forward to quickly building chemistry with my new teammates. The atmosphere at the club is highly encouraging, and there’s strong belief in the project being built to compete for major trophies.”
Manchester United’s Director of Football, Jason Wilcox, emphasized that Mbeumo’s signing is a high-quality addition to the squad. He pointed to the player’s impressive goal involvement and chance creation in recent seasons as evidence of his technical quality—qualities that align perfectly with the tactical approach being developed under Rubén Amorim.

“Bryan wasn’t just a name on a list; he was a priority target we pursued for quite some time. We’re delighted to finalize this deal early, ahead of the pre-season tour in the United States, giving him the ideal opportunity to adapt and integrate into our system and ambitions,” Wilcox said.

The Manchester United board affirmed that efforts are ongoing to bolster the squad with more top-tier talent, in line with a sporting vision aimed at restoring the club’s glory both domestically and in Europe, with fans eagerly anticipating a return to the podiums of major competitions.
