Sudan’s Al-Hilal Club officially announced the departure of Congolese coach Florent Ibenge from leading the first football team, in a new step following a period full of work and challenges the coach faced with the club. The decision came after a careful study by the board of directors, which decided to pursue a new coaching path focused on building and development based on the solid foundations left by Ibenge during his tenure.

In an official statement signed by the Secretary-General Dr. Hassan Ali Eisa, the board expressed its deep appreciation and gratitude to the coach for his sacrifices and great efforts that contributed to stabilizing the team and raising the players’ level. The board confirmed that Ibenge was a key element in the team’s technical development process, leaving a clear positive impact on the players’ performance and their organization both on and off the field.

For his part, the Secretary-General indicated that the club decided to undertake a new coaching experience, taking into account the successful experience of the previous coach, while keen to select a technical staff capable of continuing the team’s development and raising Al-Hilal’s ambitions in local and continental competitions. He affirmed that the administration is working diligently to maintain the team’s stability and strengthen its technical structure to ensure achieving positive results that reflect the prestigious status of the club.
In follow-up to continental sports updates, the African Football Confederation (CAF) announced the start dates for the 2025-2026 CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup, with competitions beginning in September. This announcement follows the conclusion of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) scheduled for August, giving clubs a good opportunity to prepare adequately for these important African tournaments.

Al-Hilal hopes that the coming period will see enhancements on all technical and administrative levels, with the selection of a technical and administrative staff capable of pushing the team towards further successes and achieving the desired goals on both local and continental stages. The management also seeks to support the players and provide all necessary resources to ensure their readiness to compete strongly in the new season, by strengthening the squad and continuously improving performance.
