In a new development regarding Al Ahly’s offensive moves, informed sources have revealed that a club official directly contacted Jordanian striker Yazan Al-Naimat, star of Qatar's Al-Arabi SC, to gauge his interest in joining the Red Castle in the upcoming phase. According to the source, the communication took place during Al-Arabi’s current training camp in Turkey, where Al-Naimat is present, as a preliminary step toward official negotiations should the player express openness to the move.

This approach comes amid Al Ahly’s pressing need to reinforce its attacking line, particularly as the situation with Palestinian striker Wissam Abu Ali grows increasingly complicated. The player remains adamant about leaving during the current summer transfer window, while the club’s management insists he stay until the end of his contract, which runs through 2029—a standoff that has fueled continued tension between both parties.
Wissam gained significant attention after an impressive performance in the FIFA Club World Cup, where he scored three stunning goals against Portugal’s FC Porto, drawing the interest of numerous Gulf and European clubs. However, despite several verbal inquiries, Al Ahly has only received two formal offers so far.

The first came from UAE club Al Wasl, initially valued at $2.5 million before being revised upward to $6 million, with a clause granting Al Ahly 20% of any future resale. Despite the improvements, the club’s management deemed the financial package unrepresentative of the player's true market value and declined the offer.

The second offer came from MLS side Columbus Crew, totaling $6 million—$5.25 million in cash and $750,000 in incentives, with a 10% resale clause. Though relatively solid, Al Ahly’s board demanded at least $9.5 million plus an additional $2.5 million in bonuses, which led to a breakdown in talks.

This complexity surrounding Wissam Abu Ali’s future has prompted the club to reopen negotiations with Yazan Al-Naimat, recognizing the need for a strong attacking alternative should the Palestinian striker depart. Al-Naimat has been one of the standout forwards in the Qatari league over the past two seasons, known for his pace and tactical intelligence inside the box—making him a logical target for Al Ahly’s long-term strategy.

If the player agrees to take on the new challenge, official talks between the two clubs are expected to begin within days, as Al Ahly moves swiftly to secure its attacking balance before the new season kicks off.
