Tawfiq Mohamed: I Hope to See a New League Champion… But Ahly, Zamalek, and Pyramids Are Still the Closest
Tawfiq Mohamed, current Petrojet player and former ENPPI star, confirmed that the competition in this season’s Egyptian Premier League is very strong, expressing his wish to see a new champion lift the trophy, even though Al Ahly, Zamalek, and Pyramids remain the main contenders.
🔴 Tawfiq Mohamed, player of Petrojet and former ENPPI midfielder, emphasized the intensity of competition in this season’s Egyptian Premier League, noting that every team is fighting hard to achieve its goals and stay among the elite clubs.
Speaking on Nogoom Dawry Nile with journalist Ahmed El-Masry on ON Sport FM, Tawfiq said: “We’re working hard to repeat last season’s success by finishing among the top teams. We give our best, but in the end, the result is in God’s hands.”
He added: “The competition is fair and fierce this year. Every club is performing at its highest level to secure a place among the top seven, which brings stability, confidence, and strong motivation to continue competing.”
The former ENPPI player continued: “It’s difficult to predict which teams will compete for the title or which might fall into the relegation group. Every club has strengthened its squad and invested heavily to reach its goals, and all teams are performing at a very high standard.”
Tawfiq Mohamed also expressed his desire to see a new club win the Egyptian Premier League title this season, saying such an achievement would bring fresh excitement and flavor to the competition. However, he admitted that the “big three” Al Ahly, Zamalek, and Pyramids remain the closest to clinching the title due to their experience and overall quality.
🗣️ He concluded: “All teams have the potential to compete for the title or at least secure a place in the top four. The differences between clubs have become very small, so it’s entirely possible that we could see a new champion thi
s season.”
