The Truth Behind Ronaldo’s Alleged Mediation to Convince Saud Abdulhamid to Join Al Nassr
Saudi reports deny rumors claiming that Cristiano Ronaldo tried to convince Saud Abdulhamid to return to the Saudi League and join Al Nassr, confirming that the player remains focused on his European journey.
Saudi media outlets have revealed the truth about recent rumors suggesting that Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of Al Nassr, intervened to persuade Saudi defender Saud Abdulhamid to join the team in the upcoming period.
According to “Alyaum” newspaper, there is no truth to the claims that Ronaldo met with Saud Abdulhamid, who currently plays for RC Lens in France, to discuss a possible move to Al Nassr. The report emphasized that such news is completely unfounded, adding that the player has no intention of returning to the Saudi League at the moment, as his main goal is to proudly represent Saudi Arabia in top European competitions.
Saud Abdulhamid is currently experiencing a promising spell with Lens, having made six appearances in the ongoing French Ligue 1 season, scoring one goal in a total of 92 minutes of play, showcasing his efficiency despite limited minutes.
It’s worth noting that Lens signed the Saudi right-back last summer on loan from AS Roma. In summer 2024, Saud made history by joining Roma, becoming the first Saudi player ever to feature in Italy’s Serie A, a remarkable milestone for Saudi football. ⚽🇸🇦
